OR Concepts Applied (ORCA), a California corporation founded in 1989, is devoted to excellence in algorithm development and software engineering. ORCA provides technical services and software products for applications of operations research methods.

ORCA’s original specialty was building mission planning and route optimization software for low observable (LO) aircraft. Early successes included the development of a single sortie route planner and a tool for allocating multiple aircraft to a collection of targets. The tools we built were useful to analysts as well as operators.

As the control station aspect of our work grew, we began to pay more attention to human factors elements. Eventually, that led to building test beds for human machine interaction testing not just for aircraft mission planning but also for cyberwar applications.

 

Leadership Statement

The business thrust of ORCA is to provide models, algorithms, software tools, and insights to the military and its contractors for command and control applications including stealthy aircraft mission planning, unmanned air systems, and cyberwar – defense and offense. Planning tools developed by ORCA are designed to produce effective solutions. ORCA works closely with its clients and customers to ensure that critical details are addressed in our delivered solutions.
