We provide technical services and software products for applications of operations research methods. Our specialty is route planning and analysis for stealth aircraft.

Who We Are and What We Do

OR CONCEPTS APPLIED (ORCA) is a profitable software development and technical services firm that applies Operations Research concepts to real and projected problems. The founding team is a group of engineers with backgrounds in Operations Research (OR) and Computer Science. Although our primary business area is Aircraft Mission Planning, we define OR broadly as the mathematics of decision making and are capable of a variety of tasks. Our strengths in mission planning and analysis add to our talents in other areas such as software engineering, algorithm design, and simulation development. Careful planning, attention to important detail, and thoughtful modular design permeate all of our work.

Our Products and Services

Mission planning is a necessary function in all of the military services. Simply put, it is the task of figuring out when and how to get your forces to where they need to be. Automated mission planning with computer-based algorithms has existed in various forms since the late seventies. Recent advances in Operations Research have direct application to these mission planning activities. The present and projected battlefield threat and the proliferation of stealthy weapon systems require unique approaches to planning. Planning tools are force multipliers that will increase in importance as the overall defense budget decreases. OR CONCEPTS APPLIED is ready, willing, and able to provide computer-based tools that enhance the effectiveness of military systems and perform best use of force analysis.
