Retrieving a New UAV Commander Password
UAV Commander requires a password to operate the mission control station software. UAV Commander passwords are valid for a set duration, and will need to be renewed once they expire. These passwords are free and can be retrieved from OR Concepts Applied by filling out the form below.

Name:
E-mail:
Organization:

Once submitted, a password should be returned to you within 5 business days.

Setting the UAV Commander Password
The password will need to be set according to the method you are using to run UAV Commander. Please identify whether you are running UAV Commander from the CD-ROM or from an installation, and choose the appropriate method to set the password.

UAV Commander Installed on the Hard Drive
When updating the UAV Commander password, make sure to edit the file manually rather than use the dialog available in the mission control system software.

Update the UAV Commander License File

  1. Navigate your system to the missions folder in your UAV Commander installation directory
  2. Edit the OPUS3License.txt file
  3. Insert the password retrieved from ORCA as the first line in the file
    1. Make sure any other text in the file is on a different line
    2. Make sure no spaces come before or inside the 20 character password
  4. Save and Exit
  5. Run UAV Commander
    1. If the password is not recognized, make sure the filename and password are entered correctly. If these are both accurate, your password may have expired and you will need to contact ORCA again to retrieve a new password.

Warning – Do Not Add Password via Mission Control System Dialog
Note that while the mission control system software will run when adding the password using this method, the password is placed in a location where only this specific mission will recognize the password. If entered in using this method, it is recommended that you still update the UAV Commander License File using the above directions.

Running UAV Commander from the CD
If running UAV Commander from the CD, you will need to setup an OPUS3License.txt file at a set location based on your current operating system. When running UAV Commander, it will look in this location for this file and will not let the mission control system software be loaded unless the file and a valid license are found.

Steps to update the file:

  1. Navigate to the file location
    1. Windows: C:\
    2. Linux: /tmp
  2. Open the file OPUS3License.txt in a text editor (or create and edit the file if it does not exist)
  3. Insert the password retrieved from ORCA as the first line in the file
    1. Make sure any other text in the file is on a different line
    2. Make sure no spaces come before or inside the 20 character password
  4. Save and Exit
  5. Run UAV Commander.
    1. If the password is not recognized, make sure the filename and password are entered correctly. If these are both accurate, your password may have expired and you will need to contact ORCA again to retrieve a new password.
